"If you want to identify me, ask me not where I live, or what I like to eat, or how I comb my hair, but ask me what I am living for, in detail, ask me what I think is keeping me from living fully for the thing I want to live for."

–Thomas Merton

Links to ACT Websites

Any of these will bring you to the official ACBS (parent organization of ACT) website. The public portal is the website listed just below.

This document establishes ACT as a mainstream therapy, supported by empirical research. This is a very helpful resource that goes along with the book of the same name by Russ Harris (The Happiness Trap) and is, in my opinion, the most user friendly book on ACT therapy.

Steven Hayes, the originator of ACT, has posted some great articles in blog format:

Mindfulness and Meditation Resources

Interesting Articles

JK Rowling on Failure: The benefits of failure and the crucial importance of imagination. An inspiring speech given to Harvard graduates June 2008.

Oprah's Interview with Pema Chodron: This link will take you to an excerpt from Oprah's conversation with Pema in the February 2008 issue of Oprah's magazine.  She refers to Pema as "One of the world's wisest women".

Other Good Websites  I like this site because of the clear information it provides about Type II Bipolar Disorder and Bipolar Spectrum Disorder. There are lots of great links to more topics than just Bipolar Disorder.

Psychology Today: This is the website for the magazine of the same name.
